WANA (Jan 08) – This morning, Wednesday, the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran, in a meeting with thousands of people, said: “Those who are captivated by America’s outward appearances and forget the grandeur of God and the Iranian nation should remember that just nine days after Carter’s praise for the so-called ‘island of stability,’ the courageous uprising in Qom proved how far removed America’s understanding of Iran truly was.”

Referring to the ongoing errors in U.S. calculations regarding Iran over the past 46 years, Ayatollah Khamenei emphasized, “Those intimidated by U.S. policies should take note of this consistent and significant weakness of the American regime.”

He cited U.S. sanctions as a prime example of flawed policies, stating, “They aimed to cripple Iran’s economy through sanctions, but during these sanctions, Iran made its greatest advancements in science and technology. Its youth took to various fields with determination. Of course, sanctions have caused harm, but they have failed to achieve their intended goals. Rest assured, the Iranian people will one day address these damages as well.”

Regarding America’s reliance on propaganda tools, the Leader remarked, “Americans have exponentially increased their use of propaganda software to solidify the effects of their military hardware. For instance, they massacred tens of thousands in Gaza but couldn’t defeat the resistance with force. Likewise, in Lebanon, despite assassinating leaders like Sayyid Hassan Nasrallah and others, Hezbollah remains and will continue to grow stronger.”

Highlighting the importance of countering enemy propaganda, Ayatollah Khamenei said, “The enemy uses lies, distortions, and attempts to disconnect people from reality. Today, the media, Ministry of Culture, and all cultural and digital platforms must tear down the false illusion of the enemy’s power and shield public opinion from its deceit.”

He stressed that the core nature of global arrogance remains unchanged, stating, “No one should assume that the U.S. or today’s Zionist regime is any different from the past. While their methods and tools have become more varied and sophisticated, we must respond with even greater vigilance.”

The Leader called for safeguarding public opinion and asserted, “The key is not to believe the enemy’s words. Their propaganda is deceitful and should be immediately refuted.”

In another part of his speech, Ayatollah Khamenei described Iran as a strategically significant nation with natural resources, highly capable human capital, and a unique geopolitical position. He remarked, “From about 80 years ago, Iran was under U.S. dominance for several decades. However, the Islamic Revolution freed the country from America’s grip. This is why the bitterness of the Revolution remains unforgettable for them.”

Addressing those who question Iran’s reluctance to negotiate with the U.S. despite maintaining relations with European countries, he clarified, “Pre-revolution Iran was a U.S. asset. The Islamic Revolution took away that immense political and economic wealth from them. This fundamental difference explains their enduring hostility.”

The Supreme Leader attributed the U.S.’s animosity toward the Iranian nation to its failure to reclaim dominance over Iran, despite significant efforts and costs over the past 46 years. He noted, “America has been defeated in this country and seeks to make up for it through hostility against the Iranian people.”

Ayatollah Khamenei emphasized that the unreasonable U.S. demand for other nations, including Iran, to consider its interests undermines democracy and the republic in Iran. He stated, “The people elected their officials to serve Iranian interests, not America’s. Hence, decision-makers in areas like inflation, production, currency, and cultural issues—including hijab—must focus solely on Iran’s interests and disregard U.S. and Zionist considerations, as they are inherently hostile toward our nation and desire nothing but Iran’s destruction.”

He praised the firm, clear stance of Iran’s president against the Israeli regime and U.S. support for its crimes, adding, “These positions brought joy to the hearts of the people.”

In conclusion, Ayatollah Khamenei stressed the importance of keeping the Palestinian issue central despite other regional events, such as those in Syria. He declared, “The foundation of resistance lies in standing firm against the malevolent moves of the Zionist regime.” He affirmed Iran’s unwavering support for resistance movements in Gaza, the West Bank, Lebanon, Yemen, and wherever opposition to the Zionist regime persists.
